Title: Curriculum Specialist

Job Purpose:

Reviews, processes, and evaluates undergraduate and post baccalaureate level academic credentials to meet the policies and practices of the University regarding requirements for graduation.

Essential Functions:

  • 65% - Degree Progress Review and Conferral
    • Responsibility for the review, processing, and evaluation of undergraduate and postbaccalaureate level courses/program curriculum in meeting the policies and practices of the University regarding degree requirements/conferral.
    • Process adjustments per student and in mass per program and Dean requests when curricular changes impact previous catalog requirements.
    • Works collaboratively with and advises students and program directors/advisers on degree deficiencies and academic solutions for successful degree progression.
    • Updates and verifies the accuracy of undergraduate/post-baccalaureate level transcripts prior to the conferral of a degree.
    • Ensures the accurate application and addition of course attribute coding to student academic records. 
  • 10% - Curricular Adjustment
    • Advise graduating students on needed adjustment paperwork and/or transfer credit paperwork to complete degree requirements.
    • Process all substitution and waiver paperwork received for all undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students.
    • Assist in posting transfer credits for graduating undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students.
  • 5% - Commencement
    • Assist with the planning and production of the annual commencement ceremonies. This includes the production of the commencement booklet, line-up order and commencement cards, attendance tracking both before and after the ceremonies, and identify and recognize Latin honor and honor society recipients. 
  • 5% - Support Athletic Eligibility Certification
    • Assist with certification of degree progression services for all student athletes.
    • Assist with determination of student athletes' progress toward degree calculations.
  • Additional Duties as Assigned by the Department

Educational Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree

Years of Related Experience Requirement:

In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.

Problem-Solving - Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively: Daily (>75% of time)

The budgeted wage that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position: $20.85 per hour

Pay Range:

Minimum Salary (Non-Exempt): 20.85

Midpoint Salary (Non-Exempt): 26.06

Maximum Salary (Non-Exempt): 31.27
