Job Purpose:

Provide the office of the Center for Community Engagement budget assistance and support. This position works with the Assistant Director of Operations to manage the departmental budget, assist with grant budget tracking and reporting, support procurement, and provide regular financial statements and reports to support the department's financial operations. Additionally, this position maintains relevant departmental databases and files and manages staff travel.

Essential Functions:

70% - Departmental Budget Management Support

  • Supports the Assistant Director of Operations in managing the CCE budget through the year in light of shifting spending priorities.
  • Processes income from gifts, grants, endowments, and program revenue.
  • Works with CCE assistant dean and assistant director of operations to ensure that all income is directed correctly.
  • Works with student leaders and supports students in managing budgets and purchasing for their programs.
  • Provides support in budget and finance functions (Concur, CashNet, purchasing, reimbursements, travel, etc.)
  • Performs monthly budget reconciliation to ensure that all purchases and donations have been processed correctly.
  • Distributes monthly budget reports to CCE staff members.
  • Executes purchase orders, reimbursements, direct pay requests, journal entries, and BARs as needed.
  • Supports gift and grant budgetary processes.
  • Tracks and allocates gift/grant funds and expenditures, provides input on prospective grant budgets, and prepares budget documents required for grant applications.
  • Supports CCE program payments/fundraising, tracking of donations, and gift acknowledgements.
  • Supervise student employees, as needed. 

30% - Business Operations Management

  • Performs a wide range of advanced administrative duties including composing communication, maintaining confidential department records, requiring independent judgement and initiative on assignments that are sensitive in nature.
  • Supports staff and students in scheduling and coordinating travel related logistics to immersion/service locations, conferences and business meetings. -
  • Supports purchasing related tasks for CCE wide/sponsored events.
  • Plans and procures student appreciation gifts for the CCE. 
  • Additional Duties as Assigned by the Department

Educational Requirement:

Vocational, Associates, or Technical Degree

Years of Related Experience Requirement:

3 years

In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using BANNER.
Experience working in higher education.
Experience with grant/gift accounting.

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position: $20.50 to $21.50 per hour

Pay Range:

Minimum Salary (Annualized 12 months and 40 hours/week): 42480

Midpoint Salary (Annualized 12 months and 40 hours/week): 53100

Maximum Salary (Annualized 12 months and 40 hours/week): 63720

Minimum Salary (Non-Exempt): 20.43

Midpoint Salary (Non-Exempt): 25.53

Maximum Salary (Non-Exempt): 30.63
