Job Purpose:

The Kinesiology and Sport Management Unit at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, invites applications for its Adjunct Instructor Pool within the Sport Management undergraduate and/or graduate programs. We welcome applications from individuals that have backgrounds in Sport Management and that can contribute to our vibrant and growing student-centered program. Successful candidates will have the enthusiasm, classroom presence and skills to engage students and should be committed to pursuing excellence in teaching and promoting an inclusive learning environment. Candidates will be fully responsible for course planning, delivering class sessions, creating and collecting assignments, submitting grades, and be available to students for office hours for one hour per week per course (or more if needed depending on the course, program and department). Courses taught for the undergraduate program are taught in-person and on-campus. Courses taught for the graduate program may meet virtually.

Possible teaching assignments based on need include: Introduction to Sport Management, Sport Communication, Sport Facility and Event Management, Sport Finance, Foundations of E-sports, Sport Marketing, Sport Analytics, Admin in Sport & Athletics, Facilities Mgmt in Sport & Athletics and Special Topics.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare, plan and teach assigned courses in Canvas.
• Evaluate assignments, including submitting grades according to University policy and established deadlines.
• Use Canvas to organize the course, communicate with students, collect assignments, and post grades.
• Collaborate with program director and Unit Lead on curriculum.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback and submit grades in alignment with Gonzaga's academic policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Kinesiology, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior teaching experience at the university level.
• Evidence on online teaching experience at the graduate level for graduate courses.
• Demonstrated ability/potential to provide quality educational experiences to a diverse student population.
• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.)
