Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Institutional Research, the Systems Data Analyst supports university initiatives by providing project oversight, systems analyses and technical support for processes utilized by the Office of the Registrar and Institutional Research. This position also performs reporting functions associated with Institutional Research activities.

Essential Functions:

  • 45% - Reporting and Institutional Services Support
    • Administers the university course evaluation system.
    • Collects, compiles, analyzes, and reports data from internal and external information systems.
    • Responsible for responding to internal and external requests for information about the university.
    • Prepares annual university profile reports, including those required by the state and federal agencies.
    • Completes benchmarking surveys in coordination with other data stewards in various departments and offices on campus.
    • Develops reporting solutions that are both automated and sustainable.
    • Develops, deploys, and maintains web-based reporting systems and dashboards. 
  • 45% - System Analysis and Planning
    • Designs, codes, and executes programming needs related to data extraction and manipulation; writes programs to solve a variety of user problems; troubleshoots programs and interfaces; responds to user requests for assistance regarding system navigation and system/network problems; and analyzes module interdependencies for ease of reporting and troubleshooting problems between modules.
    • Assists in the development of office project requests describing end-user needs; identifying appropriate issues; makes recommendations and develops action plans; attends specification meetings with project teams to determine scope and limitations of projects; reviews and recommends system changes and/or enhancements.
    • Manages office data system upgrades, imports/exports.
    • Ensures data resources are protected against unauthorized access through the assignment of security access to Banner forms under the authority of the Registrar's Office.

Educational Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree

Years of Related Experience Requirement:

1 year

In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Degree in Data Science, Social Sciences, Business, Computer Science, Educational Research, or other related field.
* Experience with using higher education information systems.
* Experience in conducting predictive analytics.

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position: $29.81 - $36.06 per hour

Pay Range:

Minimum Salary (Non-Exempt): 29.81

Midpoint Salary (Non-Exempt): 37.26

Maximum Salary (Non-Exempt): 44.71
