Teach 1-2 sections of PHIL 101/Reasoning or PHIL 201/Philosophy of Human Nature

Essential Functions:

  • For the Gonzaga Philosophy Department, a teaching load of 3-6 credits per academic term. - (Essential)
  • Hold office hours (amount determined in consultation with Department Chair) - (Essential)
  • Create and grade assignments, including submitting grades according to established deadlines - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications:

-M.A. (or equivalent) in relevant field
-Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
-Evidence of the ability to use effective classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance equity, inclusion, and belonging.

In-Office Presence - Ability to work on-site in typical office setting and participate in in-person meetings with colleagues: 5 days/week

Standing/Sitting - Ability to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period: Daily (>75% of time)

Walking - Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks: Daily (>75% of time)

Lifting/Carrying - Ability to move or transport objects up to a specified weight: Often (50%-75% of time)
