Salary Range: The budgeted annual salary that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position is $2,020 per credit for lecture courses, $2,423 per credit for lab courses.

Job Purpose:
The School of Engineering and Applied Science at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, invites applications for its Adjunct Faculty Pool within the Civil Engineering Department. We welcome applicants with backgrounds in Civil Engineering who can contribute to our vibrant and growing student-centered program. Successful candidates will have the enthusiasm, classroom/lab presence, and skills to engage students and should be committed to pursuing excellence in teaching and promoting an inclusive learning environment. Candidates will be fully responsible for course or lab planning with existing course materials, delivering class sessions, collecting and grading assignments or lab reports, submitting grades, and being available to students for office hours for one hour per week per course (or more if needed). Possible teaching assignments/courses available in the civil engineering department for the 2026-2027 academic year include*:
• three sections of Statics in the fall;
• one section of Geomatics/surveying lecture in the fall;
• three sections of Geomatics lab in the fall;
• two sections of Water Resources Engineering Lab in the spring, and;
• two sections of Environmental Engineering Lab in the spring.
*This is a pool for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Adjunct instructors can teach a maximum of the equivalent of 6 credits per semester.

Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in civil engineering (or a Bachelor’s degree with professional experience equivalent to a Master’s degree)
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional engineering licensure
Prior teaching experience at the university level
Demonstrated ability/potential to provide quality educational experiences to a diverse student population.
