Job Purpose:

The Teacher Education Department is seeking an experienced educator to teach a cross listed undergraduate/graduate level course focused on reading assessment and intervention for K–12 students. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of reading and writing development, literacy instruction, and the assessment–evaluation–instruction cycle. Expertise in administering and interpreting a range of reading assessments—including diagnostic, formative, and summative tools. Candidates should have experience designing individualized literacy plans and implementing evidence-based strategies to support students with reading difficulties.

Essential Functions:

  • Teach undergraduate/gradate level course focused on reading assessment and intervention for K-12 students. 
  • Grade assignments and provide feedback to students; submit mid-semester and final grades via Canvas 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in literacy, reading education, curriculum instruction, or a closely related field.
  • Experience designing individualized literacy plans and implementing evidence-based strategies to support students with reading difficulties.
  • Prior K-12 teaching experience, particularly in reading intervention or special education, is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy and be able to foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment for teacher candidates.
