Job Purpose:
The International Student Advisor works closely with the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) team to provide quality service to students. This position is primarily responsible for advising Gonzaga’s undergraduate international students on their immigration status, support services, and well-being while at Gonzaga University.

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
Years of Related Experience Requirement:

In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.
Certifications and/or Licensures:
Valid Driver's License
Valid US Passport
Skills & Abilities:
• Minimum of one (1) year of working with international students or studying abroad
• Evidence of strong interpersonal and communicative skills in English.
• Evidence of knowledge of federal laws and policies related to F-1 non-immigrant students and dependents, as well as knowledge of SEVP policies and guidance.
• Evidence of eligibility to be Designated School Official (DSO) by USCIS and Alternate Responsible Officer(ARO) with the Department of State.
• Evidenced ability to understand complex immigration regulations and how they impact students, dependents, and the institution.
• Evidenced ability to clearly communicate government regulations and University policies to international students, academic personnel, and agents to ensure compliance.
• Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and evidenced ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

Lifting/Carrying - Ability to move or transport objects up to a specified weight (e.g., 50 pounds): Rarely (1%-49% of time)

Problem-Solving - Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively: Daily (>75% of time)
The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position: $47,280 - $48,403
Pay Range:
Minimum Salary (Non-Exempt): 22.74
Midpoint Salary (Non-Exempt): 28.41
Maximum Salary (Non-Exempt): 34.09
