Job Purpose:

Be part of the Admission team that evaluates undergraduate applications for admission to Gonzaga University as a part-time Admission Application Reader. Admission Application Readers read and evaluate student applications, analyzing for admissibility of prospective students within the established framework provided by the Office of Admission. This remote position can be completed on a flexible schedule as long as a minimum number of hours and applications are completed each week and candidate must live in the area. Work expectation is from October - March. 

Essential Functions:

  • 90% - Read Admission Applications -
    • Read and evaluate students applications, analyzing for admissibility of prospective students within the established framework provided by the Office of Admission. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Attend weekly training sessions -
    • Attend virtual training and check-in sessions alongside full-time Admission staff members and with the application reader supervisor - (Essential)
  • Additional Duties as Assigned by the Department

Educational Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree

Years of Related Experience Requirement:

<1 year

In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and evaluate written content.
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated time management, punctuality, and priority setting skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions and rubrics.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information in compliance with FERPA and university policies.
  • Proficiency with standard office technologies, including web-based platforms, email, and data entry systems.

Previous work in a university admission's setting

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position: $20.00/hour

Pay Range:

Minimum Salary (Non-Exempt): $18.62

Midpoint Salary (Non-Exempt): $23.27

Maximum Salary (Non-Exempt): $27.92
