Job Purpose:

The Department of Psychology at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA is seeking adjuncts who could teach PSYC 101 (General Psychology) in our undergraduate psychology program, beginning in Fall 2025. We wish to welcome instructors who are committed to teaching excellence and gaining experience teaching at a primarily undergraduate-focused institution. Candidates must demonstrate teaching excellence and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.

Essential Functions:

• For the Gonzaga Psychology Department, a teaching load of 3-6 credits per academic year (i.e., 1-2 courses) in general psychology 
• Support the department, college, university and discipline through service and other forms of academic citizenship. 
• Hold office hours (amount determined in consultation with Department Chair)
• Create and grade assignments, including submitting grades according to established deadlines 

Minimum Qualifications:

-M.A. (or equivalent) in relevant field
-Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
-Evidence of the ability to use effective classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance equity, inclusion, and belonging.

In-Office Presence - Ability to work on-site in typical office setting and participate in in-person meetings with colleagues: 5 days/week
